LED Light Temperature (Daylight, Cool White or Warm White)?

When it comes to purchasing LED light, the most common questions are what colour should I choose and what are the differences? We shall discuss these further in the post.

Why choose LED?

LED is designed to last longer and is more energy saving compared to conventional light. Most importantly, it reduces the fire risk due to lower operating temperature. LED comes with a wide range of colours for you to choose from. The most commonly used at home would be daylight (6500K), cool white (5000K) and warm white (2700K). In retail packs, you will often come across the light temperature which are indicated in a unit called Kelvin (K)

Which colour should I choose?

There is no hard rule on which colour should be used. It depends on personal preference, needs and the type of atmosphere one would want to create at home.

Warm white is perfect for casting a cosy atmosphere.

Cool white is brighter. Its Artificially whiter colour creates a fresh and clear glow.

Daylight creates a nature light effort, making the house comfortable.

Below are the commonly used areas for the different colours.

Warm white (2700K): Ideal for living areas and bedrooms

Cool White (5000K): Suitable for work areas

Daylight (6500K): Practical for bathroom and kitchen
